The NSG exists to ensure that nuclear exports are made under appropriate safeguards, physical protection, and nonproliferation conditions.
It first met in November 1975 and consists of 34 member states: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Slovak Republic, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States.
