Treaty Between the United States of America and The Russian Federation on Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms (START II Treaty)
Like its predecessor, START II aims to further limit the number of deployed weapons to 3,000 to 3,500 deployed nuclear weapons each.
Signed January 3, 1993. Ratified by the United States in 1996. Ratified by Russia in March 2000, but with an amendment that must be approved by the United States before entry into force.
